Truck Route

Over the past decade, big-rig truck traffic in the North Richmond area has increased dramatically. This traffic poses great safety concerns and has adversely impacted the surrounding residential community in many ways, including lowered air quality, increased asthma rates, and reduced pedestrian safety.

The County, in coordination with the community of North Richmond, has begun a year long study that will:

  • Identify an alternative route for trucks to travel that minimizes the use of
neighborhood streets and is supported by the community, local businesses
    and local jurisdictions

  • Structure the project to maximize future funding opportunities to implement
