During the 1950's Montalvin Manor was known as a temporary housing area for military workers. The Montalvin Manor community is now an active community working towards economic and community development that would improve the social and esthetic quality of the community.
Montalvin Manor is a 211 acre neighborhood that was established as a Redevelopment Project area in June, 2003. Montalvin Manor is predominantly a residential area that includes approximately 750 small single-family homes and the Tara Hills Mobile Home Park (179 units). In addition to the residential uses, there are park/recreational and institutional facilities within the neighborhood (Montalvin Park, MonTaraBay Community Center & Ball Fields, and Montalvin Manor Elementary School) that are key public amenities for the community.
Montalvin Manor is located along San Pablo Avenue, near Richmond Parkway. The neighborhood can be accessed from I-80 through the Richmond Parkway, and from San Pablo Avenue.
Other key community features are close access and views of the Bay, affordable land for commercial and residential development, a viable workforce, and an active residential population.
