Façade Rehabiltation Rebate Process

1. Submit Application (and the following):

  • Application Form (with owner's approval and signature);
  • Plans and sketches of improvements, including awnings and signage;
  • Paint chips;
  • Cost estimates or construction bid (from a contractor), or a construction contract (if a contractor has been selected).

2. Staff Review

  • Staff will review application and discuss any issues with the Planning and Building Departments;
  • Approval - if application complete and project consistent with program goals.

3. Final Application Submittals

  • Once the Application is approved, the applicant submits:
  • Signed Rebate Request Form;
  • Copy of approved Building Permit (if necessary).

4. Construction Work

  • Façade work can begin once the steps above are completed.

5. Rebate Request

Once the work is done, the applicant:

  • Calls the Redevelopment Agency staff;
  • Submit original receipts of work completed;
  • Redevelopment Agency will process a rebate of 75% of the work cost, up to $1,500, whichever is less.
